Citius, Altius, Fortius

test

The main theme of the mural “Citius, Altius, Fortius” is focused on gymnastics and performance achieved by Romania at the Olympic Games. The Olympic movement uses several symbols, many of them representing ideas and ideals proposed by Pierre de Coubertin on the occasion of its founding in 1894 and was introduced to the Paris Olympics in 1924. Probably the most famous symbols are the Olympic rings. These five chain rings symbolize the unity of the five continents (the two Americas are considered a single continent). They appear in five colors on the Olympic flag with the background on White. These colors: white (bottom of the flag), red, blue, green, yellow and black were chosen as such so that every nation has at least one of them represented on the national flag.
The official Olympic motto is “Citius, Altius, Fortius” (Faster, higher, stronger).
The city of Deva has been for almost 50 years a center of interest for Romanian gymnastics.
